Ahhhh..... the things you hear over the PA some nights.
I'm out in the parking lot pre-hot laps, talking to a fan from Coldwater, and the announcer comes over the PA:
"Attention. The owner of a silver Ford Focus..... you left your cat in the car and the windows are rolled up."
Then right after street stock hot laps, we had a marriage proposal right on the front stretch between two drivers. And, yes.... it was a guy and a girl. But the guy (Kevin Elliott?) got down on his knee and was about to pop the question, and right on que, the push truck comes down the front stretch and gasses it. No exhaust system.
Fortunately the groom wannabe figured it out and waited until the driver got off the gas.
By the way, she accepted.
And then the kicker! After telling how U of M beat Notre Dame, and the Tigers won (don't bother with anyone recording the games), this is said over the PA:
"NASCAR at Richmond tonight. Kevin Harvick won. We won't tell you anymore if you are recording it. We don't want to spoil it for you."
WTF?
On the bright side, hats off to the track for getting the show in. It took awhile, but that's how it goes when it rains.
