So because we are the cause for the low car counts with SOD and were at the EASY races here in Knoxville they can expect 25 cars at Cherry and 35 at I-96? What do you think Nerfbar?

Don't let this stuff bother you stagger.  You guys just put on a good show out there at that LITTLE, somewhat meaningless show out there at Knoxville, where there is little to no competion.  BTW aren't you going over to Canada soon for another easy show?

I see the 2m as a draw for the series.  There are always a huge number of DD t-shirts in the stands.  As for the drivers, at least the ones that I have talked to, he really sets the standard and gives them a reason to get better.  "I wanna run up there with Dustin." and "I am going to figure out how to beat that guy."  are both common statements made in the pits.

I wonder if there had been forums back in the day, if ppl would have made the same statements about a guy named Gary Fedewa, who, as anyone who has been around the series that long would remember, outshined the field much the same way as Dustin does now.  I was just a kid then, but I don't remember anyone saying that Gary was going to be the downfall of SOD.

Keep doin what you are doin DD.  They'll/we'll catch ya!!!!  Good luck at Knoxville this weekend.

Anybody see that race on TV from Eldora where the 2m led until the engine "Barfed"? Shocked Kid had a good size lead & there were some good drivers in that heat too. Dustin ran well w/ his old blue car years ago, face it the kids got talent & real good equipment. Wink Matter fo fact when they were selling the car at Fremont the buyer asked me about the car. I told him the only thing wrong w/ that car was the driver.  Grin I was standing right next to him, he hit me, Dad & unc Tom thought it was funny. Cheesy Cheesy Go get'em ya punk lol

Let's have a recap of Dustin's Knoxville experience-30th in qualifying, 8th in the heat after backing up from 3rd, last in the B-main. My bets are that Dustin is coming back to the shallow end of that kiddie pool as we speak to race Cherry and I-96.  Wouldn't want to see him stick it out and race with the big guys for the rest of the weekend.  That easy button was just way too tempting.

And I was around for the Gary Fedewa days. The only difference is that back then you had guys like Hank Lower, Bill Tyler, Brian Tyler, and a young Brett Mann that was winning races too.  Gary won a lot, but there was a lot of races won at the line that made for good and exciting race that got the fans on their feet.  Gary earned them not by crushing the field and practically lapping himself but by outracing the competition, running them hard, and earning each win.  Its hard to say you earned a win by starting at the front, having lapped cars move out of your way because of who you are, and lapping almost the entire field.  What's the challenge in that?  NONE.

I noticed that there were a few people grew a pair that came out and agreed with me on here, but there are probably a lot more that are too chicken to say anything.  Nothing personal against the chap.  I said it before Dustin is a good kid but has the equipment and the talent to race with bigger and better racers and but chooses to beat up on kids half his size just because he can.

I'm saving my money and staying home this weekend.  Too far to drive to watch another Daggett-fest race.

I remember when Fedewa couldn't stay with the likes of Donaldson, Semelka, Lower, Tyler, and others.  Fedewa was a real good late model racer then came into the sprints.  When SOD had all these drivers there was about 8 drivers that could win on any night.  Dagget should run more AllStar races or Outlaw races but it's up to his owner and probally him where to race.  If he wins every race in SOD so be it.

It seems to be really easy for the people on this forun to decide were we should race.We look st all of the schedules and make decisions were to race based on what's best for the team and the sponsors.
We live in the Portland, MI area look at a map. The Allstars don't have enough races within 4 hours to consider running with them on a regular basis. The Outlaws are the same deal. We Skipped the SOD show in our back yard to run the Kings Royal we went to Ohsweken and raced with the outlaws and we went to Knoxville. The last time we ran a full SOD schedule was 2004 when we won the championship. If you want to have a say in what's best for our team feel free to send a BIG check with a list of races that you want us to attend. Until then you you will have to live with what we decide is best for our family our team and our sponsors.

I agree with Stagger in the fact that a lot of where they race is a product of the "middle" class of sprint car racing in decline.  Its really their best option outside of going to Attica and Fremont every week being the next closest option.  I really applaud them for getting off the porch this year and will be faster for doing so.  The All Stars really are not an option for them the way it is laid out anymore, which is too bad.

That being said, I can see where people get tired of seeing the same person win all of the time.  I think some of it comes from the fact people can see the talent he has and like it being on display on a bigger stage.  If you watch he's always faster after coming off a stint racing at Fremont/Attica, Eldora, or out west.  Same thing with Dalman after the year he spent at Fremont made world of difference compared to the previous year.

Hopefully they don't give up on the 410 Nationals b/c I'd like to see them go back after getting a lay of the land this year.
