I saw this on the Charter Raceway Park website (Beaver Dam, WI):

************

Beaver Dam Raceway (formerly Charter Raceway Park) has announced that it would like to explore the possibility of adding a sprint car racing to its successful regular Saturday evening program starting in 2010. The sprint car division would share top billing with the very popular modified division. A final determination of this possible addition would be made by January 31st.

This new class will have a very unique format in that both 410 and 360 sprint cars will be invited to compete in this division. A handicap system will be instituted to attempt to equalize the horsepower differences. Those differences will be equalized by tire compounds, and weight, as well as other areas being considered by the Raceway Park staff and management.

Another unique twist is that the field will be limited to 24 drivers who will sign a yearly performance agreement. This will ensure that all drivers will be awarded feature money each night, as well as participating in a lucrative year end bonus fund sponsored by Goodyear. This limitation will also help meet curfews imposed on the track.

All drivers, or car owners, interested may call Carolyn Mueller at 920.382.7858 or Jerry Priesgen 920.382.4515 for more information, or attend an informational meeting held at The Golf Club at Camelot in Lomira on Monday, January 11th at 7:00pm.

Interesting way of guaranteeing a 24 car field.  Sort of like franchising a starting spot.
