jl47- nope never drove a sprint car but i could wheel the crap out of a big wheel back in the 70's, had to stop though as fish said because of blowing an engine one night catching on fire and flipping into the stands.... it gets ugly from there so i will stop. now i am just a professional fan who has forgot more about sprint car racing then anybody on this board will ever know!!!! & i do still race my zambonie off and on and enjoy going to car shows and showing off my pristine 1973 gremlin wagon !
@ hyundai, put a call in on the pay phone and found out the other person in the crock hunter fight did not get any penulty because his car conformed to the required crappy-ness level needed to be a mts competitor ( section 4, article 7 if you have your rule book handy). this should be fair warning to all MTS'ERS, if your car is any newer then 1985 stay home jabronies !!!!

As usual, junior's version of events differs from the facts.

There was a big wheel accident and kids were maimed. He doesn't mention he gave that kid the wheel, sent him into and over the fence, then got caught with Schlitz on his breath. And the 70s? Your daddy was still wet behind the ears then.

Here's some gossip .....

..... Mackey is running SOD this season. The identical team cars of Mackey #25m and Daggett #2m that have been tearing Michigan apart for a couple years will be a three-car team in 2011. Tim Norman will return and pilot a red #5m just like the other team cars.

..... Irwin is running for USAC Sprint & Midget ROY -- didn't you see the #0 midget at Ft. Wayne tuning up for the season?

I can tell you from experience that scheduling races is no easy deal. MTS I'm sure, will have a decent schedule put together in time for the 2011 season. Promoters don't want to pay for the big purses and racers don't want to run for nothing (rightfully so) so it's a tough racket. As for Nerfbar jr I don't think you have any idea how truly hard it is. I know we've been busting our hump all winter and it's almost impossible to get a promoter to step up and pay a realistic purse in this day and age. So lets give Joe a chance.
