I'm looking forward to the late season races. This coming weekend will be fun with some camping/partying and a little traveling with SOD at Winston Friday and Crystal Saturday.

Hartford the following week with maybe a trip to Fremont thrown in.

Then a highlight of the year with the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals with three days of racing at Ohsweken.

Following weekend is Eldora and the 4 Crown or I-96 and SOD. I beleive Waynesfield is running Sunday that weekend also.

The first weekend of October is the season closer at Gas City on Friday with a short trip over to Eldora for the Sprintacular with 410's, 360's and 305's

Mid October with Kokomo with Sprints and Midgets on Friday and Saturday Silver Crown and Midgets at Toledo.

Who knows after that. Of course bow season will be full swing by then.

I miss the late fall races like two day shows at Avilla, the Sunday Frosty 40 at Eldora, Sammy Sessions at Winchester in November (which usually was snowed out).

Avilla Nationals!  All the tracks were closed, you had Fremont, Butler, SOD and AllStars there and even some Iowa/Illinois cars.  Sure do miss that track.

Ah, yes.  The annual run down the final stretch for us fans.

Stating the obvious whilst compiling the majority thereof, but not all-conclusive, mind you, this year's September stretch run (accuracy not 100% guaranteed  Grin):

9/3:

SOD   Winston
IRA   Beaver Dam
AVSS   Dixie
Open Sprints   Gas City
Open Sprints   Spartan

9/4:

SOD   Crystal
AVSS   Berlin
Open Sprints   Butler

9/5:

HOSS   Angola
Open Sprints   Kokomo

9/10:

SOD   Hartford
Open Sprints   Gas City

9/11:

USAC Sprints   Terre Haute
HOSS & Xtreme   Wisconsin Dells
Open Sprints   Butler

9/17:

SOD/Canadian Nationals   Ohsweken
All Stars   Fremont
Open Sprints   Gas City

9/18:

SOD/Canadian Nationals   Ohsweken
All Stars   Fremont
MTS   Crystal
HOSS  Baer Field

9/24:

WoO   Eldora
Open Sprints   Gas City

9/25:

SOD  I-96
Silver Crown, USAC Sprints & Midgets   Eldora
IRA   Wilmot
ISMA  Supermodifieds   Berlin

10/1:

Open Sprints   Gas City

10/15 - 17:

Kokomo Klash (Sprints on 10/15 & 10/17)

On sidebars, there is still a lot of tin top action/late models running.  Headliners are ARCA at Toledo on 9/12, the Tony Bettenhausen 100 at Illiana on 9/11, and the Winchester 400 CRA race Labor Day Weekend.

What is included in the Butler 3 Day Spectacular to close out their season 9/18-19?  Any sprints?

Don't forget Ohsweken runs Thursday, Sept. 16th before the Nationals a full show. I believe it is a make up of an earlier rained out ASCS Patriot show.

At the end of the year here in WI you can catch some good double headers with the IRA and MSA, Sept. 18th at Plymouth, Sept. 25 at Wilmot and Oct. 2 at Dodge County.

Where did the summer go?

Just got back from Kokomo Speedway.  There has been a change to the Kokomo Klash.  It was to be a three night event - October 15th, 16th, & 17th, with non-winged sprints on the 15th & winged sprints on the 17th.  Now they are only running the 15th & 16th, and there is no show on the 17th, hence, there will be no winged sprints at all, & non-winged sprints still on the 15th.

TJ and I went to Angola Sunday and saw several people that skipped Kokomo because they they expected a low car count. I bet 36 cars was a nice surprise eh Mike ?

First ever visit to Angola. What a nice track and facility. The sprints haul a#! around that joint. Good feature and nice crowd. Thanks for the seats Bill.

Butler is having 305 c.i. sprints on Saturday, the 18th - the second night of their 3 Day Spectacular.

Or, at least it says so on their new message board thread....

That is correct...The race night was already planned as a regular Corr/Pak Sprint Car show, but since the Patriots got rained out in June, they were added and it is now an ASCS vs. Corr/Pak Challenge...although I expect we'll see lots of outsiders that night, like we did in last year's Thursday night ESS event.
