It must be considerably different.  So those that my stay away from Cherry due to past no passing, tire eating, other issues might want to give this a look.  It sounds like the new management has their act together and the race track is quite a bit different.

I spoke to Roger Steig, the new promoter, this morning.  He said it's not the same old Cherry anymore.  The track has been widened to 70ft all the way around and added a lot of clay and increased the banking by 12 degrees.  He said they keep moisture in it and the Mods and Late Models didn't even touch the tires.

Jake Stebner's dad Kurt went and watched a couple weeks ago and confirmed that the improvements are impressive and the track consistently had 3 grooves all night long.
