Good job by the crew at Butler to shuffle the running order a bit to get the sprint feature in with some rain close by. They got 20 cars on the track in short order and it was a pretty darn good race to boot.

Amen to that Bob. It was nice that someone put US first for once. I for one had never heard of Jared Horstman till last night. That kid put on a heck of a show in the A main. Granted it may have had a little different out come if Kyle and Dustin had not had their little hiccups. Hats off to Ryan for a great run too. A great weekend for him. All in all a good show with the exception of a non-existant sound system from the flag stand to turn 1. Seems like after all these years they would do repairs but i guess the staff feels we don't need to know what is going on. Good to see Mike, Beaner, Mark, TJ, and you Bob. I'm off Thursday, Cherry Friday, I96 Saturday. Yahooooo!! See you all at the races.

Best race of the year so far.  And you guys are right - the Butler staff really did us a favor last night.

Had a good time w/ Beaner discussing cars & tracks.  Got to meet Gavin H. after the race as I was headed on out.  Good luck down the stretch, man.  Always nice talking with Mr. & Mrs. Irwin, too.  Doc & Bob.... always a pleasure.

I was going to shoot MC Bob a message that I was not going to make it to Kokomo tonight, but Mother Nature spared me the effort!  I plan on heading to Gas City Wednesday Night for that round of the Indiana Midget Speed Week.  Sprints are on the undercard, and Steve Irwin was telling me last night he plans on running it.  So, I've got a "local" to cheer for.

See you there, or the next one, sooner or later.

I'm looking forward to coming back in august if the track stays smooth like that. First time racing at butler and only my second time there (since I was a real little kid) I had fun and thought they did a good job of keeping it moving and not packing too many classes into the show. I was surprised by the number of cautions in the sprint feature, and worried that the rain was gonna come... but its all good.

Good meeting you too Mike, good timing as well, since it's typically my MO to get loaded up and on the road ASAP.

TJ and I have been to Butler off and on since he was maybe 6 or 7. We've seen some weird and crazy things there.

One of his 1st trips there,as we were going down the steps after the races, some drunk fell on me causing me to fall into TJ, sending him airborne head first. As he hurtled towards earth I managed to grab his hood saving him from grave............... well anyway, it scared the heck out of both of us.

And there was the Outlaw show during hot laps some local kid flipped on the front strecth and on about the 2nd gyration he flew out of the car and into Doug Wolfgang's wing as he passed by. It looked ugly but amazingly the kid emerged unhurt. I saw Wolfgang last summer and he still remembers chewing out the youngster for running what amounted to be junk.

1st time I ever saw Steve Kinser was at Butler for a WoO show. Kinser filpped off turn one on the first set of hot laps, loaded up and left.

Oh man, I could go on.

I will throw my 2 cents in by adding a big thumbs up to the racing at Butler last night. Great chatting w/Doc and got to meet and talk racing with Mike.  The TJ gang is a great bunch of guys who enjoy Sprint Cars. Thanks TJ for your work in making this site happen!!!

My shout out for the night goes to the nice job by the Rocket "Mann" and his drive to 3rd using the the top groove for some nifty passing.  Reminded me of the old days at Baer Field one night when he was running his dirtcar for the pavement show and literally dropped off the track on the back straight to pass what I thing was for the lead or 2nd late in the race.  Great run Brett and thanks for the show for us fans!!

Hey Gavin H...I followed the sprint car part way home down M-60 through Homer as I headed back toward Plymouth.  Where do you call home?  Luckily we only had light rain so the driving wasn't too bad going home for us.

Bob:I too have quite a few nights at the old 3/8's mile high banked oiled dirt....whoops I mean watered dirt now. Smiley Yea I go back a few years as I grew up in Quincy. Couple quickies...cars pitting in the infield and watching I believe Ron Semelka change a motor from the stands and win the feature later. Also the occasional scuffle in the pits that was seen by all again from the stands. Seems Hurryin' Hank Lower's crew seemed to be active in that area alot as Hank could be a little aggressive with the car at times.

Oh yeah, pits in the infield and plenty of physical contact for all to see.  Smiley If you remember Semelka you probably made it to Avilla Speedway. Saw some good racing there.

That's cool, thanks for not tailgating the crap out of me, the rig don't stop so well in the rain so I can't run her too hard. I'm in Fenton (just south of Flint) pretty much 2-3hours from everywhere.
