I was watching some 2008 indoor motorcyle ice racing from Bloomington, Ill. and saw SOD driver Kirk Cheney win a heat race. They had some big names there with J.R. Schnabel winning the main.

I know Kirk is racing the pro circuit again this year and hopefully we'll see him take some wins.

I talked to Kirk this morning - he is at his opening race in Roanoke Va. He hit the wall pretty hard in a practice session today and dislocated his knee, but is still planning on racing Saturday. If you are interested in watching him race, he will be a little closer to home on January 30th when he is scheduled to race at Walker Arena.  He races with Ice Speedway if you want to check out the website icespeedway.com.

Ok, I'm watching this HD MAVTV again tonight and Kirk Cheney is racing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and I'd like to file an official protest.

Kirk is in the 6th heat and in the first corner he was hit from behind, pushed into another bike and down goes Cheney.....down goes Cheney. They gave gave them a restart but Kirk was sent to the penalty line. It's just not right. Kirk did have a good battle with the second place rider though.

Pretty neat to see one of our guys racing in HD.
