Since many of the users are from the midwest why don't we talk SOD to get us through Michigans awesome winter. Unless you want to wait for May with nothing to discuss. Who are the biggest contenders this year? Will Dustin win every race he attends? The trek into hoosier land? What's new and or team changes? Rookie of the year outlook? Just to start, lets here some opinions?

I was also wondering if anyone was running for rookie of the year.  Does anyone know if Chris Jones from Butler Speedway is running with SOD this year?  Who won the rookie of the year in 09?

Ryan Davis won the RoY in 2009.  Gavin Hunyady, Marques Huffer and Matt Lumbert have all competed before, but are still eligible for Roy in 2010 as they all have less than 10 sprint car races (1/2 year) experience.

Sounds like SOD will have a good Rookie of the year race this year..  Can't wait until the season starts.

I found by reading the complete ascs sprint cars schedule  The only group that is having any races during the 360 nationals is sod . Does that mean if  Dallman & Daggett go to the ascs nationals they will be penalized ( no points) for racing in Iowa
even if they are ascs 360 races Huh just wondering?

"Penalized" is a bit of a harsh term.  Any driver from SOD going to the Nationals - it is their choice.  Some guys don't set out to run the whole SOD season.  They'll run the Nationals, and other big events down the Ohio way.  Others (the majority) stay close to home and run the smaller events, like Cherry Speedway, during the Nationals.  So, by running the Nationals, sure.... the driver(s) will not accumulate SOD points.

I am sure it all comes down to time and money.

But, if you are asking WHY they (SOD) schedule races during the Nationals, that's not for me to answer.  I can make a good guess, but it is just that - a guess.  I'm just a fan like you.

A driver that skips that weekend will not receive SOD points.   We have tracks that want that weekend and based off of the limited amount of teams that have raced that event in the past, it doesn't make much sense to shut down the whole series because 1 or 2 guys might want to go.

Wow, the king is interested in the SOD rookie race, that's awesome  Grin

So how about the title contenders?
  • 6n back fulltime?
  • Dallman running fulltime again?
  • Limited action from the 3g?
  • Grubaugh in the 3w?
  • Mann in his own ride?
  • Rutan in the 81, or 2 cars for John Gall's team?
  • Who else?

So who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?
