Big Weekend for Michigan Open Wheel Racing
Opening weekend is a very appropriate phrase for fans of open wheel racing in Michigan this weekend as weekly programs at Spartan and Butler Speedways begin along with the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP lid lifter at Crystal Motor Speedway Friday and Saturday. If the weather is nice Great Lakes area open wheel fans will have plenty of racing to choose from. -
Can the Sprint Bandits Go National?
The Sprint Bandits are back in action this weekend. Don’t adjust your computer monitors or check the date on your system, it isn’t August. For the first time since 2006 the Bandits will venture outside of their normal time period of the traditional TNT tour to hold races over the next two weekends at Golden Triangle Raceway Park, Houston Raceway Park, Devils Bowl Speedway, and I-30 Speedway. -

TJ’s Take on Jim Nace
It’s amazing how through Motorsports people can feel a connection to someone they have rarely or never seen in person or ever met personally. In 1987 I made my first trip to Central Pennsylvania for a two day World of Outlaws show at Williams Grove Speedway. With the Outlaw regulars I had seen a handful of the Central Pa. teams before at Eldora, but one car in particular caught my eye. It was a white car with brown trip and gold lettering for “Camel Express” carrying number 26. -

We are prepared for sprint car overload over the next three days with three of the biggest dirt sprint car races in the country taking place, one of the biggest pavement races to take place that nobody is really talking about, and a full slate of Australia action to wet the race palette. -
Open Wheel Overload
Bad weather can make a mess out of any open wheel racing weekend. Big or small any event encountering rain can potentially produce scheduling nightmares. Entertainment pursued during early rain outs can cost more than going to the race track. This weekend a perfect storm hits at the end of 2009 with several major events stacked on top of each other. -
