Mechanical difficulties sidelined East in the 30-mile USAC Valvoline National Sprint Car Series feature, knocking East from the top-5 within shouting distance from the end and resulting in a 17th-place finish.     From Bob Cundiff: Mother Nature rained out a Mid American visit this past Saturday but as a result, the series and the track management have decided to give it another shot and hope that the third time is the charm. With the date set for Saturday, September 4th, the race will again see a larger purse than the usual Mid American payout and will once again offer $3,000 to win. The remainder of the top five will also see increases from the norm with second paying $1,500, third $1,100, $1,000 awaits the fourth place finisher and fifth place will receive $850.
